Crosswinds Communities Registers “Building With Trees” Pledge with National Arbor Day Foundation

Nebraska City, Neb., - Crosswinds Communities has registered its Building With Trees pledge for Country Walk in a program sponsored by The National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of Home Builders and Firewise Communities.

This program distinguishes builders and developers across the country that pledge to save trees during construction and land development. To qualify for the program, applicants must register their commitment to Building With Trees by meeting certain criteria. These include having a tree expert on the development team, a tree survey prior to planning and design, and a tree conservation plan. The builder and a tree expert must also pledge to follow tree preservation guidelines during the construction and maintenance stages of the progress.

As part of the Building With Trees pledge program, Crosswinds Communities receives from the Arbor Day Foundation a certificate and educational information to share with homebuyers, the public and community officials interested in saving trees during construction. Crosswinds Communities, in registering its Building With Trees pledge, has agreed to publicly display its tree conservation plan.

The National Arbor Day Foundation is a nonprofit education organization dedicated to helping people plant and care for trees.
